How to use tp_smapi on thinkpad E420?

I installed the tp_smapi in the AUR
but

sudo modprobe -v tp_smapi
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.39-ARCH/extra/thinkpad_ec.ko.gz
WARNING: Error inserting thinkpad_ec (/lib/modules/2.6.39-ARCH/extra/thinkpad_ec.ko.gz): No such device
FATAL: Error inserting tp_smapi (/lib/modules/2.6.39-ARCH/extra/tp_smapi.ko.gz): No such device

How can I fix it?

thinkpad_ec should be installed by tp_smapi

[ryan@T410 ~]% pacman -Qo /lib/modules/2.6.39-pf/extra/thinkpad_ec.ko.gz
/lib/modules/2.6.39-pf/extra/thinkpad_ec.ko.gz is owned by tp_smapi 0.40-6

Which version of tp_smapi have you installed and how did you "install" it?

What's the output of `pacman -Ql tp_smapi` ?

smapi didnt support my model E420 now~~

I install tp_smapi in AUR and it is the last version

this technology isn't available in the edge series, i even searched for a windows driver for my e520 but tp_smapi is not supported.

But I have thinkvantage active protection system on my E420 and the driver is also available for it on lenovo website. Here is the link .
