Wondering if anyone else has this issue, and can't find anything quite the same on the internet. I can't move AWN anywhere but the center of the screen. I sent AWN to "below" in ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml, thinking it might be related to the "grabbing" problem because it does seem to grab a bunch of my screen with a black bar on exit, so per the AWN wiki i set layer to "below" and fiddled with the other xml settings, but to no avail. I get this with both the repo and AUR version.
I'm using cairo-compmgr, on login.
Went ahead and nuked any awn settings in ~ in case they were corrupted to no effect. Exiting XFCE panel and Cairo-compmgr have no effect on this problem.
Video drivers are:

lib32-intel-dri 7.11rc3-1 (for wine)
xf86-video-intel 2.15.0-2
Video card is an Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07), sharing RAM with system.
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d looks innocent:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1099 Apr 16 08:02 10-evdev.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 377 Apr 16 08:02 10-quirks.conf

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 267 Jul 6 14:11 10-synaptics.conf.BAK
~/.xinitrc also looks innocent.
if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ]; then
for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/*; do
[ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"

Cairo-compmgr is in my autostart.sh, which I can post, too.
This is kind of frustrating.
