I've installed fingerprint-gui from AUR and it works OK for 'su' (doesn't work for 'sudo' at all and not compatible with gnome-keyring). I actually find it easier to type the password than to swipe the finger, so I reset everything to previous config, but I want to leave fingerprint-gui installed since I might need it some day.
The problem is that now, that I've disable fingerprint authentication, reader's green light is constantly on. It would be great if I could disable the reader with some command that can be executed at startup.
Here's full lsusb output for the reader:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 147e:2016 Upek Biometric Touchchip/Touchstrip Fingerprint Sensor
fingerprint-gui says I'm using 'libbsapi' as a driver. Googling the driver's name seems to suggest that the driver is strictly for fingerprint reader, but I'm not entirely sure.

Did you check the BIOS for a disable option?

I want the reader to be enabled globally, I just wanted to disable it at boot, so that I could manually re-enable it later. For example, I did the same with bluetooth by making 'rfkill block bluetooth' execute at boot, so that I can still enable it post-boot.
I already removed fingerprint-gui and its dependencies though. Couldn't find anything related in module list to blacklist. Thanks for the help!
