Lxpanel Update: Battery Monitor Broken

Since the latest batch of lxpanel updates, the battery monitor on my eeepc shows 100% charge all the time.
The colour changes correctly for mains/battery connection.

Further investigation indicates that this is an lxpanel problem.

It appears to be caused by the re-introduction of this bug from lxpanel version 0.5.5 into version 0.5.8.

The workaround is to downgrade to 0.5.6, which works correctly.

I will try to work out how to create my first bug report
