I'm trying to install Virtualbox 4.1 from the .run file since Pacman had the 4.0 version only. But when I try installing the file using sh filelocation/filename.run, it gives me the following error-
Please install the build and header files for your current Linux kernel. The current kernel version is 2.6.38-ARCH
I also tried installing the kernel26-headers package(as suggested here- http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions … 1-on-arch), but it still shows the same problem.
How do I fix this?

4.1 is the version in the repositories so it sounds like your mirrors are not up-to-date. If you do wish to install the older version edit the PKGBUILD accordingly and then use pacman to install it.

Grab a fresh mirrorlist, run 'pacman -Syyu' and try again http://www.archlinux.org/mirrorlist/

Good, but you should keep your system up to date, so please make sure you figure out why do you only see VirtualBox 4.0 when http://www.archlinux.org/packages/commu … irtualbox/ version 4.1 is already there.
