PS3 media server issues

I am trying to use PS3 media server to share video files with my XBox 360 (despite the name it should still work. gotta love standards)

Anyway set up was a piece of cake; I think i just installed it and it worked out of the box. It shows the media share, my folders (i can browse all the subfolders etc.)

But it does not show files in the folders. I have a .mp4 episode of the Linux Action Show, that it doesnt see. I also have a H.264 movie trailer that it doesnt see (havent tried any other formats). It will browse to the folders where these are stored just shows the folders as empty.

Anyone else have these issues? Come up with a solution?

I am not really sure where to start for solving this / trouble-shooting. It seems like the share it up. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: PS3 media server issues

Did you follow the wiki on media servers

See Here

Also I noticed with mine it can sometimes take a long time for files to show up. Sometime I have to wait 3 or 4 minutes in a directory for everything to get indexed. I also had to restart after installation for it to work properly. It probably took an hour or so to update and start working properly.

Just a couple of ideas.
