Re: PCM in alsamixer keeps deteriorating

you using Xine or Mplayer? when you change the volume there, it changes the PCM volume (music players such as xmms and ncmpc will do the same thing)

Re: PCM in alsamixer keeps deteriorating

I am usingMplayer, but I never change the volume. It seems every time I shutdown and then restart I loose some in PCM. It is set to say 87 now, but when I notice a drop in volume, it's liable to be at 50 something or lower. Not a big problem, just curious why this is happening!
Thanks for the reply!-- Larry big_smile

Re: PCM in alsamixer keeps deteriorating

Do you have alsa in your rc.conf?

# alsamixer         (fix your settings)
# alsactl store      (save them)
put alsa in your rc.conf (for restoring the soundlevels)

if that doesn't work...then I am lost big_smile
