So first let me start off by saying that I hate the mouse. I hate using, I try to do everything via the keyboard.
So I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions to my plight.
My friends are always posting youtube videos in irc/reddit. However, I have to click play/pause/etc. when watching them in youtube. This bugs me.
Has anyone come up with a way around this?
Anyone know of a good way to say download the video or stream it through mplayer?
I'm sorry if my issue seems trivial, however, it really does bug me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is an HTML5 op-in for youtube, although it does not work for every video.

Just pass the posted youtube links to youtube-dl (which is installable from [community]) then play them in mplayer.
xfce | compiz | gmrun | urxvt | chromium | geany | aqualung | vlc | geeqie

CLI way: http://filmsbykris.com/wordpress/?p=968 (or you can just download it manually with youtube-dl, but that way's pretty cool)
In-browser way: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/50771
EDIT: A Youtube update today broke both the greasemonkey script and youtube-dl As of right now, they are still broke, but in phihag's fork of youtube-dl it's already fixed, so I quickly made an AUR package for it in case it's useful to anyone: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=51223
