[SOLVED]Video player cannot load subtitles

Hi, after installing arch linux I do not have subtitles (in films) in any player (mplayer, xine, vlc). Subtitles are correct - on a different computer they work. I searched the forums but have not found a solution to my problem.

MPlayer log:

Cannot load subtitles: /path/movie_name.txt

Re: [SOLVED]Video player cannot load subtitles

.srt or .sub ? Did you try to start the film and then open the sub file from within?

Yes, i tried. File is formated:

{3184} {3222} Sam!

If I remember correctly it is called a mdvd.
File extension is "txt".

If I recall correctly mdvd should be" text.sub" . And should work. Did you try the above in VLC?

Oh... It works! But I wonder why it does not work in that format. Anyway, THX.
