Libreoffice Calc is refusing to load any existing documents after the recent upgrade. I just get the (unhelpful) message:
Read error: An unknown error has occurred. If I run Calc from a terminal, I get a stream of this message
QPainter::begin: Cannot paint null pixmapI would be grateful for any help.

Are you using the current Libreoffice from the repos?

Yes.
The latest upgrade has been a nightmare! The splitting of the package, although a good idea, has caused many problems. I suspect I haven't installed something!. I have installed libreoffice -common, -calc, -writer, -gnome. and the en-gb language pack.

Not sure, but maybe you need libreoffice-kde4.

I'll try tomorrow.
Many thanks for your help. Karol

See this topic. Due to package splitting you have to install calc manually via pacman again:
# pacman -S libreoffice-calcDon't ask me why after upgrading you have to install calc, writer etc. manually again, I have problem to understand it.

O.K., sorry.

I tried installing -kde4, but still no success. Calc won't read ANY existing .ods files. This is very serious for me. Is anyone else having the same problem?
(BTW. writer reads existing .odt files without any problems)
EDIT: Gnucash loads the .ods files without problem

What about to try remove libreoffice completely and install again?
Offline
I just had this problem as well. It seems I was missing some extension(s) because I installed the libreoffice-extensions group and that fixed it for me.

I fixed the problem by completely removing libreoffice (using pacman -Rsc libreoffice), then re-installing. It seems there is a problem with the upgrade process, which does not occur with a clean install. As far as I can see, I have the same files as i had before, but maybe some dependency gets missed.
Many thanks to everyone for your help.
