Hi all,
virtualbox-4.1.0-2.1 seems to fix the shutdown kernel panic for others, but on my arch the panic still present on shutdown.
On my fully up to date i686 Arch , after the last upgrade and checked the bug report in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/25187 , I rebuild the modules using :
$ sudo rc.d setup vboxdrv
:: Unloading VirtualBox kernel modules [DONE]
:: Removing old VirtualBox netadp kernel module [DONE]
:: Removing old VirtualBox netflt kernel module [DONE]
:: Removing old VirtualBox kernel module [DONE]
:: Removing old VirtualBox pci kernel module [DONE]
:: Recompiling VirtualBox kernel modules [DONE]
:: Reloading VirtualBox kernel modules [DONE]
pacman -Q virtualbox
virtualbox 4.1.0-2.1also I tried
pacman -R virtualbox
pacman -S virtualbox
rc.d setup vboxdrvbut panic...
Im using the workaround on rc.local.shutdown // modprobe -r vboxdrv , but I need to know what is wrong on my system.
Any help is appreciated, and sorry about my english.
edit : some typo

Maybe you have a mirror that is out of date? Try selecting a new mirror and resyncing.
pacman -SyyuAfter choosing an up to date mirror.

My mirror is up to date, any other ideas are welcome.

I'm having the same issue, I suppose it isn't the biggest deal since it only panics upon shutdown, but I'd still like to see it resolved.
Edit: New kernel solved it.

Confirmed, solved after today updates, upgraded virtualbox (4.1.0-2.1 -> 4.1.0-4) , installed linux (3.0.1-1).
EDIT: still happens.
