linux (3.0-ARCH) dhcpcd not getting address

Upgraded kernel to 3.0-ARCH and now e100 will not receive dhcp address from dhcp server via dhcpcd.

Re: linux (3.0-ARCH) dhcpcd not getting address

I don't have a direct answer for you but does "sudo cat /var/log/daemon.log | grep dhcpcd" tell you anything useful ?

Re: linux (3.0-ARCH) dhcpcd not getting address

Can you please post the exact error message, the output of 'ip addr' and make sure your modules are loaded 'lsmod | grep e100'.

@lagagnon
I find

grep dhcpcd /var/log/daemon.log

more elegant ;P (BTW, the log is empty on my computer)

Re: linux (3.0-ARCH) dhcpcd not getting address

dhcpcd[]: version 5.2.12 starting
dhcpcd[]: eth0: rebinding lease of ....
dhcpcd[]: eth0: broadcasting for a lease
dhcpcd[]: timed out

I can manually ifconfig eth0 and get it to ping dhcp server, and it was working with kernel 2.6.39.

Re: linux (3.0-ARCH) dhcpcd not getting address

So it is not getting an IP address. Are you sure you have checked your router, network cable, ISP technical faults, etc?

Re: linux (3.0-ARCH) dhcpcd not getting address

My dhcp server had the dhcp4 daemon in /etc/rc.conf but it didn't start for some reason.  Something weird seems to have happened with one of the network cards.  Dhcpcd working now.
