Everything else works fine, except my rt2870sta module is not loaded. Downgraded to my old 2.6.39-ck. During update, I am prompted to remove ndiswrapper, and there's no way around this. Going to stick with 2.6.39-ck until everything gets sorted out.

Are you aware that ndiswrapper got dropped a long time ago and may not work with the new kernel?

Now I am, since I have read up on it, still want to hang back, as I hear that the rt2870 module for the 3.0 kernel is insanely slow.

Sure thing. Maybe you can edit the title so that it better describes the situation.

Solved by installing http://dl.dropbox.com/u/169548/2010_070 … .1.tar.bz2. Not slow at all.
make install did not complete, but, it patches the rt2870sta anyway, which is enough to get it working for my adapter. Now using 3.0-ck kernel ![]()
