When I launch kdevelop I get an popup that just says 'there was a system configuration error' and in the title of the dialog I can see it says 'could not find KTextEditor::Factory, chec..' and can't expand it to get any more info and nothing is printed in the console. Afaik it installed fine, but perhaps not. Not sure what to go from here though and google isn't helping.

Hey, I'm getting this exact problem too. I installed it from LXDE instead of KDE if it makes any difference? Last time I installed it (old KDE install) I didn't have any problems...

I think I've got this some time ago after 4.7 upgrade. I'm not using KDE desktop itself (using standalone WM), only kdevelop. I've launched full KDE session once, and that fixed kdevelop for me.

Hi, can you try installing kdebase-kwrite?

Excellent, That fixes it bash. Missing dependency fail, oh well. Thanks very much
