[Solved] Waiting for Root Device on Default Image but not on Fallback

Since I had lost the network on my laptop after updating to kernel 3, I tought it was linked to all the pacnew files I hadn't merge.
So I tracked the pacnew files in /etc and /boot and I updated the corresponding files with vimdiff.
I recreated the two initramfs images with mkinitcpio -p linux.
On the next reboot, I got the error regarding the root device not responding, and got stuck there.
However, I can boot the fallback image...
