ATI Radeon Performance Inconsistency

I've installed the necessary drivers for my system, which is a dual-graphic intel i915/Radeon 5600. I've also enabled vga_switcheroo to toggle power to either card. There is an interesting twist though. Whenever I switch to the Radeon 5600 and startx, performance is much slower than the intel card (Most noticeably in 3D applications and gnome-shell animations). This problem does not appear on another system that has a single Radeon with the same (opensource) driver. Intel Graphics are fine for most occasions, but sometimes some hardcore games like scorched3d require a little more.
I suspect it has to do with that second line about MTRR allocation. I haven't dabbled in that area much but I think it has something to do with my Video RAM.
Thanks smile
