Time is not update when suspending

My laptop Lenovo G560 is working great. When I suspend, then resume, the time was counting. For example, I suspended at 8AM, then 2hours later I resume, the time is 10AM

But after upating system *sudo pacman -Syu* the time is no longer update sad
If I suspended at 8AM, then 2 hours later I resume, It still show 8AM, then count from that.

In other words, the clock was not working when suspend
Anyone help me solve this>

Re: Time is not update when suspending

Are you using https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ntpd or similar tool?

Re: Time is not update when suspending

ntp is not the solution here.  If it works, ntp will just mask the problem by setting the clock sometime after the resume.  The clock should be correct coming out of suspend -- even without an internet connection.

Re: Time is not update when suspending

after I set up ntp, the time is got via internet, so it's always true. I always have internet so I can accept this solution,
But actually, the error is not solved. I cannot understand why the time is not updating aftre suspending. It worked really fine before I update system sad

Re: Time is not update when suspending

We did some time-related changes recently http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/ … 21086.html

We no longer adjust the rtc on boot, as it is unreliable, we only make corrections for the timezone

I have no idea if it's related.

Re: Time is not update when suspending

pm-utils has a hook (see /usr/lib/pm/sleep.d/90clock ) to sync the clock on resume based on a $NEED_CLOCK_SYNC setting which is not true by default. Worth exploring, though I can't say it's going to address the issue you have.

You could always add a custom hook to /etc/pm/sleep.d in addition.
