updating problems

I get this error message when I tried to install a few apps (obconf, adesklets)
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x0821c340 ***
Aborted

and when I check -V I get 2.9.6, not 2.9.6-2, and now pacman won't update anything, after it updated itself sad I renamed pacman.conf to pacman.conf.bak, and renamed pacman.conf.pacsave or whatever to pacman.conf so not sure why it isn't working, it won't update my wesnoth sad Then I deleted pacman.conf.bak, that wasn't a help either sad So I am not sure what is wrong.

Re: updating problems

if you are having glibc issues, try using pacman.static to update.

Re: updating problems

that isn't it, it's the fact that it isn't actaully updating anything, it says that it is uptodate when I sync it. I tried pacman.static, and that didn't help it, and I don't get anymore errors from pacman.

Re: updating problems

well, then it probably is up to date.
check your pacman log to see what packages were recently installed, then reinstall them (--force).

Re: updating problems

hmm, perhaps it may be that the servers I use aren't updated yet?
