Playback not working in Banshee/Clementine/Rhythmbox

Hello,
I have recently installed mpd and from then on I started to be unable to play sound through the mentioned players. There are no error messages on the console, even with --enable-debug in banshee turned on. The progressbar appears to be stalled on 0.00 and no music plays.
Also, alsaconf does not detect my sound card but alsamixer does.
Strangely enough, mplayer plays everything with no complaints.

Well, the problem was 'solved' by an update and (another) restart.
