NetworkManager drops wired connection

In the last few weeks I often realize that I have no internet connection. nm-applet shows no defined connection however in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections I have three of them. After restarting networmanager it shows twice the same adsl connection in the list. It still can't connect to internet and I have to restart my modem to have a working connection again.

I have no router, only an ADSL modem.

I didn't find any recent bug, people have problem with wireless and not wired connection. You can find the relevant entries from log files below.
Is it a networkmanager problem or hardware issue. Should I replace my ADSL modem?

Re: NetworkManager drops wired connection

Before you replace your modem try using a different manager like wicd.  I had similar issues with both wired and wireless while using network manager when i switched to wicd they went away.

Re: NetworkManager drops wired connection

It's exactly what is on my mind, but I thought I would try to investigate this issue before abandon networkmanager without any effort on my part to find the root of this problem.
