Orcsome — scripting extension for NETWM compliant window managers.

I returned to openbox after two year awesome usage. And  I miss its lua and ability to fine-tune every aspect of window management. There are too much cases where wmctrl is insufficient. So I decide to write mini framework and repeat my old awesome environment.

What is orcsome? It is a thin wrapper around python-xlib API to allow one to handle various X events in easy and compact manner. You can listen for key presses (global and window-specific), window creation/deletion and property changes. Orcsome provides a bunch of methods to manage your windows and hides some xlib complexity.

For example, this is my orcsome config

GitHub page

And Documentation

You can find orcsome and orcsome-git packages in AUR.

I am an openbox user. Just wondering what made you switch back to openbox. I tried several times to switch to something else but after some time I switched back.

Awesome is a very bad thing when it comes to managing Java swing windows. Plus there are some random issues with focus.
