Hello,
Since conky 1.8.1 has a bug with fonts, I'm trying to build conky 1.8.0. I got the PKGBUILD from the ABS and modified it to install 1.8.0. I also had to include a fix for curl, found here:
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=31589.
However, during make I get the following error:
make[2]: Er hoeft niets gedaan te worden voor 'install-exec-am'.
make[2]: Er hoeft niets gedaan te worden voor 'install-data-am'.
make[2]: Map '/home/jente/packages/Arch/conky 1.8.0/src/conky-1.8.0' wordt verlaten

Run
LC_ALL=C <command>to get output in English.
If you enabled C locale, it should work.
No idea about the error, sorry.

That is handy for future errors, thanks! If you need that now, just tell me ![]()

You didn't post the actual error message. It should be higher up in the output.

I will try to built again and post the full output!

You're building the package in a "/home/jente/packages/arch/conky 1.8.0" directory. Remove the space in the pathname, that's what cause the problem. You might want to report this bug upstream.

Oooh, that works indeed, thanks! Do you mean reporting this at pacman/makepkg? Perhaps you have a link or something, I have never reported a bug before..

I mean report at conky bug tracker. Check the conky website. there will probably be instructions there.

I took your PKGBUILD and it worked for me, you did create '/home/jente/packages/Arch/conky 1.8.0' yourself, right? I built it in /home/karol/test/foo1/src/conky-1.8.0 and all was fine.

I created that folder myself, yes. Once I removed the versioning, it built correctly so it was indeed the space in there.

If this was the bug Snowman was referring to, I think there's no need to report it anywhere, just remember that Linux generally doesn't like spaces in file- and directory names.
You can safely use e.g. conky_1.8.0 or conky-1.8.0.
