Hey guys

Just a curiousity question really.

Would having multiple Desktop environements on the single PC Cause any Bloat. like for example, kde services/apps running in XFCE. or gnome in KDE, etc

Re: DE's and Bloat

Well, that depends. Because you can't really run the DE's concurrently, complete mixture isn't really possible. Do you use any KDE apps in Gnome, Gnome apps in KDE, etc?

This is not an Arch specific discussion. Moving.

Re: DE's and Bloat

In theory, no.

The libraries are only loaded when they are needed, so they'll only be loaded when you launch an application that needs them.

I say 'in theory' because you can get XFCE (and probably Gnome and KDE) to automatically load other DE's libraries when it first loads.

This is the most important question. If one is to start something from KDE while under Gnome, it's going to run all of the services that it needs to communicate within KDE; Which is to say, parts of the KDE desktop will start to run even though that the DE is Gnome. Otherwise, the discussion is only about disk space.
