pacman not finding files

I've just tried installing acroread using yaourt. It stopped midway and told me it couldn't find lib32-mesa. I found that it existed in the multilib repo. When I try installing it using pacman, I get an error stating that the file was not found. What is the problem? I have updated my mirrors and -Syy'ed and still I get the same error.

Re: pacman not finding files

After -Syy, does the package even show up when you 'pacman -Ss' for it?

Re: pacman not finding files

Did you enable the [multilib] repo?

Re: pacman not finding files

All good tips. Also make sure your mirrors are up to date. Best tool is reflector.

Re: pacman not finding files

I have enabled the multilib repo. My mirrors are up to date. After I Syy, the package does not show up. It says it doesn't exist.

Re: pacman not finding files

toad@deskarch 998\40 ~/downloads/el_linux > packer -Ss lib32-mesa
multilib/lib32-mesa 7.11-2 [0.15 MB] [installed]
Mesa 3-D graphics libraries and include files (32-bit)
multilib/lib32-mesa-demos 8.0.1-1 [0.06 MB]
    Mesa demos and tools (32-bit)
aur/lib32-mesa-git 20110109-1
Mesa 3-D graphics libraries and include files
aur/lib32-mesa-full 20100914-1
Full Mesa 3D graphics library with all its components, built from the git master branch.
aur/lib32-mesa-r600g-git 20110716-1
LIB32 Mesa R600 gallium for Radeon HD 2xxx and later - git version. If you live in the US, you should delete --enable-texture-float \ line.

Do a

reflector -l 5 --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

followed by a

pacman -Syy

Does the multilib repo get synchronised? If not, recheck your pacman.conf

So it is working now? Then please mark this thread as "[SOLVED]" (edit the thread title in your first post).
