[SOLVED] Asus "Palm-proof" Technology?

So I'm scoping out some laptops, and I've narrowed it down to a Toshiba Satellite and an Asus A53.  The Satellite seems to have slightly better hardware, but I'm fascinated by this Asus claim of "palm proof technology" on the touchpad, since that's been a major frustration point with my current laptop.

Is this a software thing, or a hardware thing?  I know it's a stupid question to ask, since it wouldn't make much sense at the software level, but if I want to run Linux on this computer, I'd rather not get it expecting some feature to work that only works due to some Windows bloatware.  Anyone who's used a laptop with this kind of "palm proof" feature got any remarks?

The synaptics driver already does that - it's configurable.

So it does.  Not sure how I missed that.  Thanks for the tip.

Closing this thread since it doesn't matter anymore.
