CPU Not responding during Install ISO Boot

The title pretty much says what problem I have. When I try to boot from any Arch ISO disc, whether it be the "released" ISO, a test snapshot ISO, or the latest Archboot ISO, this problem occurs. Simply put, the system goes through with the regular boot process, uncompressing kernel, etc. Then it stops when it checks the CPU cores, and one by one it'll say "CPU 1: Not responding." "CPU 2: Not responding." All the way to CPU 5 before the system simply restarts. In other words, I can't even install Arch. sad

Could I possibly get help in solving this problem? The Ubuntu ISO boots fine, but I barf at the mention of Ubuntu.

System Specs:
ASUS Crosshair V Formula Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Hexa-Core Processor
8GB RAM

Always tried to start the 64-bit versions of the ISOs.

EDIT: In case it helps any, when it does 'Probing EDD..." it takes quite a while to complete.

Re: CPU Not responding during Install ISO Boot

Firmware bug. Try updating it

Try disabling C1e support from uefi bios.

By firmware I hope you mean the BIOS.

I updated the BIOS and disabled C1E, but the exact same problem still happens. hmm

Re: CPU Not responding during Install ISO Boot

sad

You can try boting with maxcpus=0, or with nr_cpus=1, then nr_cpus=2, etc...

I suggest if you can boot, send an email to linux-acpi with a dump of your ACPI DSDT + kernel .config, maybe expert people can suggest a better workaround.

OK, thanks for the tip. I'll try it out when I have time.
