Wesnoth's libnotify is a bit sub-optimal

So, to start off my statement, let me start off by saying I'm a DWM user that uses StatNot to get libnotify popups. Simple enough. This works for most applications that use a more straightforward approach to notifications by creating a new "popup" for each notification. Examples: Anything using notify-send for the most part (My pianobar and cmus scripts included), Pidgin as far as I recall (I ditched it for Mcabber and irssi) and a few others. On the other hand, Wesnoth seems to append new notifications on to the last one(s). This is fine for, say, notify-osd, but this really causes problems with StatNot and, in Awesome, their notification thingy (I forget the name... Awful perhaps?) In StatNot I only see the first message of the type (the first turn change of the game, even if that's not the current turn, the first chat message from each person rather than the one that spawned the notification, etc). In Awesome the problem is slightly alleviated by appending notifications on and on, until eventually they run off the screen and I run into the same uselessness, not being able to see the notification I need to. I'm not an Awesome user anymore though, so that no longer "helps" me any. What I'd like to know is if there is any way to change this behavior to instead of appending the messages, to spawn new ones for each event to be more StatNot/Awesome friendly? I'm willing to compile Wesnoth if it requires patches / source modifications, I've done it before (used to run Gentoo, also used to run development line of Wesnoth which all needed compiles). Thanks if anyone can help me with this, I know I typed quite a wall! (I blame it being almost 2AM here...)

Probably more suitable to Wesnoth's own forums, they can point you to the relevant bits of the source code I'm sure. Or just make a bug report.
