Is it possible to install Windows after Arch ?
would it be possible to install Windows to a second drive (separate from Arch ;-)
Read somewhere that you have to remove ide cable from hard drive or mess around with BIOS, there must be a better way ...
the thought of installing Windows makes me *shiver*
TIA

and it makes me barf, but there's no arguing with a woman. ;-)
If you have a second drive, you can install Windows onto it, then boot a live CD to recover your Arch lilo. In the old days, you had to install windows to the primary IDE Master (C:), but I don't *think* that is necessary anymore.
I'd just install windows to a blank partition and see if it boots or not. Then I would be very very very very quick to set up lilo or grub to duel boot that sucker.

I cannot install it on my main drive let alone any other lol....
Running Win98Se cd it wants to wipe my whole drive (arrghghg!)
Been so long since I installed windows, mind you its been a while since I installed Arch ;-)
All that I have read says Windows must be first (never!)
Help!

try partitioning the other drive first using fdisk and flag it as Win95/VFAT and see if Windows setup will then allow you to install without formatting.
this is how i managed to install WinXP on a second HD after having already installed Arch. not sure if it'll work for Win98SE tho.

Can't you give wine or something a try before giving up and doom yourself? What do you need windows for anyway?

I am pretty sure 98 will only install to your 1st partition of your primary hard drive. You can look into re-mapping your drives to fool windows 98 to thinking another partition is the first.

I'll look into Wine & remapping ...
Thanks for all your help ...
