[SOLVED] Creative x-fi microphone not working

Hi there, I thought I'd just share my experience to anyone having problems with getting their Creative x-fi to record audio. I've been struggling with this myself and the solution is ridicolously easy.
Simply go into alsamixer, and mute line-in(select line-in using your keyboard and press m). Then go press tab and change it so that only PCM and Mic have capture on and you should be all set!

EDIT: Having PCM turned on will mix input with output, so it's like Stereo mix. tldr you most likely want to turn off pcm.

I know this post is kinda old but I wanted to say thanks! I was able to get mangler working to talk on my friends vent server!
