Unable to find Ark's KPart component, please check your installation.
This is the error I get when trying to run ark from the console or when invoked by dolphin when opening an archive.
I have tried reinstalling ark and KDE, I have tried a new user and thus a clean .kde4 but nothing seems to solve this problem.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Doom

I did do the nasty in the past-y.

Hey, I have the same problem. It started happening two days ago.
Have you fixed the problem?

I was having this problem and just fixed it by installing kdesdk-dolphin-plugins and kdesdk-kioslaves. Maybe only one of them's required, maybe both, but they're both small packages and should only improve the DE.
Before installing them, I got the above error message, yes, but I also noticed stray Ark processes decompressing the archive, even though I hadn't confirmed where I wanted the archive extracted. This was after clicking "Extract archive to...", on a 123.6GB .tar.gz archive. So, obviously I killed those processes...
Hope that helps someone else in this boat...
