[SOLVED]kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement is broken after upgrade

I upgraded networkmanager to 0.9.0-1 yesterday, and there was also an upgrade to kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement (1:git20110824-1). After rebooting, applet looks like this:

No devices is found. There should be a wired and wireless interface. I have a connection and can browse the internet, using wlan, so I guess networkmanager itself is working like it should, only applet is broken. Haven't found anything weird in any logs.

Same here. Damn, now that wireless was finally usable under KDE. Well, it lasted three months at least?
Btw, is the plasmoid really the "right" (ie. official KDE-) way to go with this? I now they still usethe old knetworkmanager in the KDE Ubuntu PPA which has the latest, up to date KDE.
Seeing as the plasmoid is not in a final version yet, I wonder if there is a better way to do this until the plsma is out of what seem to be an alpha phase.

edit:
I do have this in errors.log:

Aug 25 23:22:16 localhost sudo: pam_unix(sudo:auth): conversation failed
Aug 26 10:49:31 localhost /usr/sbin/crond[878]: (CRON) INFO (Syslog will be used instead of sendmail.): No such file or directory
Aug 26 10:49:41 localhost kdm_greet[938]: Cannot load /usr/share/apps/kdm/faces/.default.face: Ingen slik fil eller filkatalog
Aug 26 10:50:53 localhost pulseaudio[1377]: pid.c: Daemon already running.
Aug 26 10:50:53 localhost pulseaudio[1382]: pid.c: Daemon already running.
Aug 26 10:55:14 localhost sudo: pam_unix(sudo:auth): conversation failed
Aug 26 10:55:39 localhost dhcpcd[934]: wlan0: del_route: No such device
Aug 26 10:55:39 localhost dhcpcd[934]: del_address: No such device
Aug 26 14:55:35 localhost sudo: pam_unix(sudo:auth): conversation failed

I don't know i this COULD point towards an access right problem? I have no clue. tongue

I think the problem here is nm09. Earlier this year the plasmoid worked fantastic, including wifi and 3g connections. But then in april everything broke. I filed some bug reports, some got fixed, and functionality slowly returned. 3g never worked for me since, though. Maybe just a recompilation is needed?

Re: [SOLVED]kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement is broken after upgrade

But nm itself works fine - it connects to wlans already remembered, if set to connect automaticly. The plasmoid should IMHO make sure it is capable of working with the latest nm, even if something is changed in nm. Althoug the plasmoid could do it the rigth way, and the bug lie within nm, I don't think that is the problem. Also nm-applet for gnome works. Havent tried the cli-version.

Iæd wish the nm team themselves included a ncurses based prgram so you'd atleast have a working fallback. Now i had to hunt down an ethernet port to install nm-applet.

Installed kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement-git from AUR, and now it works as it should again. Don't know if it's becouse of the recompile or if some bug were fixed upstream, but I'm marking this as solved...
