how to build xft2 & fontconfig?

hey ultra-geeks out there! )

can anyone give me an manual/how-to/explanation/... about building my x11-system completely on xft2 and fontconfig as it is used in rh8.0?

or at least post the link?

I dont know how. BUT im sure you can look at the ebuilds from gentoo, and use those as a guide to make some pkgbuilds.
