Crackling Audio in PCSXR

My machine is certainly capable so I doubt it's a processor power issue (Gen 2 Sanybridge i7) but all video, music and some sound-effects crackle (sort of a fluttering sound) in PCSXR and I cannot find any option changes that have any effect.

Has anyone got PCSXR working well and what settings/tweaks are you using? (I have general issues with ePSXe and pSX doesn't scale up so that's no use, everything looks terrible).

Re: Crackling Audio in PCSXR

I've been having a similar problem and have just installed the old P.E.Op.S. Linux OSS/ALSA PSX SPU from http://www.pbernert.com/html/spu.htm

I will not be able to extensively test it until tonight but initially seems much improved - ie NHL98 load screen movie audio playing smoothly wink

Re: Crackling Audio in PCSXR

All the plugins on that page are for 32bit systems, trying to load those into PCSXR will just give me invalid ELF class errors.
Just noticed the source is available so will try compiling that.

I'm having the same problem, and have tried numerous audio/video configurations, but no luck. Did you find a solution?
