help on xfce4

hello for all I have a internet connection on dhcp its work fine, but when I startx xfce4 it freese on message (snanning dns settings) (or check dns settings)

Anybode know about that situation?

I see that error message whenever I start xfce without a network connection, so I'm thinking you're dhcp is not happening automatically. Have you put your network settings in /etc/rc.conf?

Try turning on your lo device in rc.conf?

yeahhh thanks for the ideas , the troubble was that my host name in the rc.conf not are the same that the /etc/host) now xfe run speedy , thanks for the help

I vaguely remember reading that it was a bad idea to have your actual local host name in the hosts file for the loopback...am I just on crack, or is there a reason for that?

emmm yes if I not write the name of my machine in the hosts file the xfce dont start and  blowup in the initial screen with the legend (search and test DNS settings) I dont know why is it, but when I added the name of my machine to the hosts file the troubble dissapear, strange thing
