Hello world.
I've tried to ram Arch into my little net-book (Asus u31jg). It both has an i5: a with integrated graphics and a Nvidia gt 415m card.
The problem is I only get X to work on the Intel chipset (with xf86-video-intel graphics). Of course I want to run the Nvidia card, but it doesn't work.Tried to install both the Nouveau and the closed source Nvidia drivers, still, no matter what i do, i receive an error when I run "startx":
> Fatal server error:
> No screens found
Running lspci assures that Intel is at the PCI bus "00:02:0" and Nvidia at"01:00:0". Therefore I also tried to change to the Nvidia PCI bus in xorg.conf.
Is there anyone here able to help this linux-apprentice? Thanks in advance!

Sort of. You don't install the regular nvidia drivers package but the bumblebee one.

You're using an Optimus laptop; unless you select the nvidia card only in the BIOS (which I dont think you can on that particular laptop) you have to use one of the hacky Optimus solutions like Bumblebee to get the Nvidia card to work right.
Why do you want to use the Nvidia card over the intel? You may get better 3d acceleration, but the intel drivers aren't too bad and you'll definitely save on the battery life and heat.
