Network Card turned off and Power regression issues.

Hello,

Can any one please help me setup wifi/ethernet on my Thinkpad t420? It has Intel Wifi Link 1000 BGN. If i am not wrong it is suppose to work by default. How and what modules do i have to load to turn on my wifi card? I know how to make wpa_supplicant work.

Their are power regression issues with linux kernel. How can i make pacman to not to upgrade to latest kernel releases?

Thanks.

PS:- I have done research but couldn't come find an answer. Sorry if this question has been asked many times.

Re: Network Card turned off and Power regression issues.

Check http://intellinuxwireless.org/?n=Downloads for intel wifi drivers

Pacman should not syncronize system wide missing packages unless specified with the -u [OPTION] on the -S [SYNC] argument, see the man pages on pacman.

Also make sure you have done all the stuff on wireless setup in the beginner guide, it is very comprehensive smile

Re: Network Card turned off and Power regression issues.

Thanks for reply. I have figured out how to get network working after a core install. I am just wondering how do i load module like iwl-1000-ucode and packages like wireless-tools on a net/live install disk
