Hi guys,
I know it must be xdg related problem but I cannot get Chromium to open downloaded files with thunar with the "Show in folder" function.
Any working solutions?
Regards

Hi justl,
Thanks for that. I read through that but I'm still unsure how to define the filetype association as a downloaded file can be anything. Does anyone have a practical example using openbox, chromium and thunar?

First I would try just installing perl-file-mimeinfo and see if it helps. Second, I would try creating a ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list file with:
[Default Applications]
inode/directory=thunar.desktop
As the wiki notes, you can use utilities like xdg-mime to specify more filetypes.
