[SOLVED] VLC issues with uninstalling, defaulting options and resizing

VLC has been acting up for quite some time now, but I simply chose to ignore it because SMPlayer does what I need.

Can't uninstall it.

$ sudo pacman -Rns vlc
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: phonon-vlc: requires vlc

$ sudo pacman -Rns phonon-vlc
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: phonon: requires phonon-backend

$ sudo pacman -Rns phonon-backend
error: 'phonon-backend': target not found

Defaulting the options by removing the ~/.config/vlc/ folder solved a graphic issue, for which (part of) the main window somehow took up half of the screen. Now the main window shows up fine, except I can't resize the "Media -> Advanced Open File... (Ctrl+Shift+O)" menu, or by right clicking the systray icon -> "Open Media" (same menu).

The title, which is supposed to be in the middle, is way, WAY off. And for some reason I can't resize the window. Is there any other way to completely default the options? Or perhaps this is a bug?

Using Arch i686, no DE, Openbox, everything up to date.

Try installing phonon-gstreamer to provide the phonon-backend dependency, then uninstall VLC.

Thanks. Had to uninstall "phonon-vlc" first but in the end it worked out ok.

$ sudo pacman -Rnsd vlc

PS: Uninstall, delete ~/.config/vlc/, install again, and it still has the long-ass "Open" menu. Oh well... It's probably a bug. Guess I can mark it as SOLVED.
