Hi all,
I am being asked about setting up a Linux configuration with 3 monitors attached. This is only for 2D monitoring, no need for 3D nor other fancy stuff.
I think the simplest and cheapest solution is to use a dual head PCI graphic card in combination with integrated graphic card to get three outputs. But I heard about some issues with multi-card setup and Xorg. Is there anyone using this kind of setup with success ? Or any suggestion about another solution ?
Thanks for attention !

Seems it's possible but may not necessarily be cheap.

Due to the fact that RandR still doesn't support multiple graphic cards, the easiest option is buying the cheapest ATI card which supports three outputs via Eyefinity. Otherwise you'll need to use Xinerama, which is heavily deprecated.
You only have to use at least one monitor with DisplayPort input, or buy either an active DisplayPort to DVI adapter or a Sapphire Flex card (they have three independent DVI outputs).
