After a recent wine update, there is no sound at all in diablo 2.
Here are some errors I'm getting.

err:module:load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L"winemp3.acm": libmpg123.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryDo you have libmpg123.so.0?
Did you update just wine or the whole system? mpg123 was updated on 8th Sept., check if you have the current version (1.13.4-1) installed.

The blatantly obvious first line shows the error:
libmpg123.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
So install mpg123.
Edit: karol beat me to it.

Oh I see. I'm not sure how to read error reports sometimes because I don't know the significance of each error. It's all still pretty foreign to me. I did as you said though, and I still have no sound. I did some research and thought that using the -opengl parameter would work but no dice. The errors now read:
jgreen1tc ~ $ wine ~/Media/Games/Diablo\ II/Game.exe -opengl

Sorry I can't be much help to you guys, but I'm a little ignorant. All help is appreciated.
Edit: I just realized the sound options are grayed out in game...that cant be good.
Edit2: I was getting an unhandeled exception error when the cinematics displayed yesterday. Today, when I booted my computer, ran pacman -Syu, and started the game, I noticed I had sound, but got the unhandled exception error again. I started the game immediately afterwards and it worked. Sound and everything. I noticed I couldnt adjust volume at first, but then noticed kmix wasn't in the system tray so I started it and I could.
Then when my computer died, kmix was started automatically and I started getting the same sound issue as before. So far I have absolutely no idea what I did, but I'm gonna try to reproduce it.
