Networkmanager problem when waking up.

Hi!
My problem looks like this. When I wake up my computer (vostro 3700, kde), networkmanager can't establish the internet connection back (before sleeping it worked as a charm), and says that the cable is unplugged which is really weird.  I also use ifplugd daemon. The only solution for now is to reboot, which is very inconvinient. Do you have any ideas how to fix my issue?
Thanks for help smile

Re: Networkmanager problem when waking up.

There's a good chance rfkill is killing your card and then not resuming it. If it's a laptop try running the acpi daemon (acpid). It solved my problem.

Re: Networkmanager problem when waking up.

i also have the same problem...
before resuming i unplug the LAN cable and plug it back in after i see the login
another way too get it to work again is to disable networking (in the plasmoid) unplug the cable... activate networking and plug the cable in

i have acpid running hmm

is this bug caused bei rfkill or is something else?

Re: Networkmanager problem when waking up.

I know that whenever I disabled wireless by hibernating/suspending or with the keyboard shortcut it wouldn't come back up without a reboot. After installing acpid it would come back up though. I think it's different for wired though. Wired LAN isn't affected by rfkill (lan doesn't use rfkill).

Re: Networkmanager problem when waking up.

Have the same problem with KDE + My wireless can't determine my network after rebooting!! I have to open my network management settings click on my wireless, then pick my connection, network, edit, scan button, choose my network name and  click OK even when connect automatically is checked.

Re: Networkmanager problem when waking up.

@ehabreda that is another issue use google or use the search function maybe you will find something...

i found a solution big_smile
seems like the r8169 driver is buggy... check with lsmod and look for r8169 if you are using it install the r8168 driver first AUR and blacklist the old driver after that remove it and load the new one or just restart^^

Re: Networkmanager problem when waking up.

I had the same problem, it helped me a solution as described on the page:
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/22957
As for uninstalling one of the packages pm-utils or laptop-mode-tools, I removed the latter and now operates a network after waking.
