LVM2 vs RAID 0 (JABOD) in terms of performance

I have three disks I'm going to put together for the added throughput.  Would striped LVM2 or (software) RAID 0 be faster?

Re: LVM2 vs RAID 0 (JABOD) in terms of performance

Performance is best in raid0 and it is easier to setup.

Lvm2 provides the same striping but the chunk size is greater than raid0.  Thus it isn't as good in performance.

The very best performance in raid0 is with solid state devices which do not have seek time delays.

Of course, you were aware of that but it is dramatic when utilized.

Some say use LVM and raid0 together placing LVM on top of raid.

This is reported in many googles.

Good luck with either.........
