I wonder how to open those two formats with Chromium.
Opening mms gives me the following message and only opens a new chromium window.
Opening asx streams ask me to save them as a file instead of directly opening with e.g. mplayer.
This is how my ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list looks like:
[Default Applications]
application/pdf=zathura.desktop
x-scheme-handler/mms=gnome-mplayer.desktop
audio/x-ms-asx=gnome-mplayer.desktop
In addition I installed mimeo and created a ~/.config/mimeo.conf:
/usr/bin/gnome-mplayer
^mms://
Any ideas?

Have you installed the gecko-mediaplayer? That is the browser plugin for mplayer.

I tried it quickly and now asx streams are opened in Chromium. Still no success with mms links.
However I do not want to watch the streams embedded in Chromium. Hence gecko-mediaplayer is not really an option for me.

It doesn't look like Chromium can handle mms: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issue … l?id=47154
As for asx, what is your DE/WM? Setting a default application for Chromium is going to depend on that.

Sorry, I don't know mimeo well enough to help you on that.
