rebooting or powering off from script,

Hi all,

Right after a massive error - I reinstall Arch (wanted to do it since a while anyway it was the perfect excuse) The issue is I was using hal commands in basch script to power off/reboot the computer.

Obviously Hal is deprecated, but I can't seems to find a solution to work without human interference (i.e. typing a password)

dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest="org.freedesktop.Hal" /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement.Reboot

Any suggestion?

many thanks,
