Thanks for the reply, but the fact that GDM doesn't show a login screen shouldn't be normal. Do you want any logs for extra info?

isnt that the "auto login" issue?
I get that with auto login enabled but if I disable that I get to the login prompt

Well, cluter 1.8.0 breaks gdm from loading sad

I should have wait for new gdm before upgrading it sad

Well, I have to build older clutter from source, now smile

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

Ok. For now, I will try to boot on archlinux install cd, deactivate gdm on start, and wait for both upgrades. Looks like I do a wrong update + log-out time hmm ... And I will wait for a more complete upgrade before installing anything !

Edit : repaired. The only annoying thing is that gnome shell take something like 5 seconds to launch. Tracker related ?!

.xsessions error related to slow startup. Tracker seems guilty here :

Will try with tracker deactivated anytime soon and I will see if there is any difference.

Also get this in dmesg | tail more interesting, maybe.

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

actually gsettings-data-convert is in gconf.

do

cd /usr/share/GConf/gsettings
grep jamedo *

Sounds like a bug in some package that you have

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

When I grep jamendo * :

[fred@fredo-arch gsettings]$ grep jamendo *
pythonconsole.convert:[org.gnome.totem.plugins.jamendo]
pythonconsole.convert:num-per-page = /apps/totem/plugins/jamendo/num_per_page
pythonconsole.convert:format = /apps/totem/plugins/jamendo/format

After removing totem plugins, same output ?!

Edit : related to grilo and grilo plugins or maybe to totem and its grilo plugin part ?!

Just rebuild 3.1.91 and it runs. Now, let's wait for 3.1.92... I hope also that gnome-terminal and other tools will be in 3.1.92 too smile

I'm lucky, I have also VLC installed on my computer smile

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

@wonder

Can you package gnome-packagekit  3.1 as well? http://ftp.acc.umu.se/pub/GNOME/sources … gekit/3.1/

Currently the 3.0 version crashes when using gnome-unstable:
gpk-application: error while loading shared libraries: libgnome-menu.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Thanks.

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

Got a lot of gnome-shell crashes related to gnome-shell-calendar-server.

(gnome-shell:31209): St-CRITICAL **: setup_framebuffers: assertion `width > 0' f
ailed
** Message: applet now removed from the notification area
gnome-shell-calendar-server[31220]: Got HUP on stdin - exiting
gnome-session[1269]: WARNING: Application 'gnome-shell.desktop' killed by signal
JS LOG: GNOME Shell started at Wed Sep 21 2011 11:12:02 GMT+0200 (CEST)
** Message: applet now embedded in the notification area

Known bug or do I have to report it upstream ?

EDIT : Don't find any bug like the one I'm facing, so reported it : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=659676
