Some problems with internal mic.

Hey all, I've searched around but I can't come up with a solution to my problem. Whenever I start my computer the internal mic volume is set to 00 in alsamixer. I have tried to run:

alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state store

to preserve my settings but it doesn't work. I should also mention that I have pulseaudio installed and whenever I open alsamixer it defaults to pulseaudio as a sound card, which says I have full capture volume.

My ultimate goal here is to be able to run skype, so far it works perfectly except for having to go in and change the volume every time which I just don't want to do...

Thanks for any help!

Re: Some problems with internal mic.

I have/had the same problem and discussed that at the pulseaudio mailing list.

http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/p … 11331.html

Eventually I could temporarily solve this problem by downloading the PKGBUILD for pulseaudio and manually building the 0.99 beta release.

This release does not reset the mic to zero.

Give it a try!

Re: Some problems with internal mic.

Do you have alsa in your DAEMONS array in /etc/rc.conf ?  (Or, if you are running systemd, are you running the alsa-store and alsa-restore services?)

Re: Some problems with internal mic.

@orschiro I will try that and report back!

@ewaller Yeah I use DAEMONS array. ^-^

EDIT: There are a few Pulseaudio entries in the AUR, which one should I take?

Re: Some problems with internal mic.

I didn't mean the AUR.

Download the PKGBUILD and all aditional files from the official repo, put them into the same directory and run 'makepkg'.

This should build version 0.99 for you.
