program that works with ichat?

Does anyone know if there is a program out there that I could use that is compatible with ichat? I have family members that are mac only and I would like to video chat with them. From what I have researched I wasn't able to have much luck, but I was hoping someone might have a workaround or suggestion.

I think in iChat they have to choose a protocol that is compatible with something you use.  (like Yahoo messenger).

I don't think anything is currently compatible with native iChat protocol.
