pcie aspm force boot option instability

So I'm trying to append pcie_aspm=force to my kernel options in grub, but whenever I have it in there I get a lot of hard freezes (can't even SysRq out of it). Is there something I might be missing or something I can do to get a log of the problem?

My battery life is much better with it turned on, so I'd really like to get this figured out.

Thanks.

Re: pcie aspm force boot option instability

Seems like you have a system where enabling pcie aspm causes problems (obviously tongue).

If you are enabling it then you have a clue why you need to enable it, just dig a little further and see why it was decided upstream to leave it disabled by default. There is a nice blog post (that I cant seem to find right now) that explains the reasons.
