Laptop Brightness Changing Slows/Lags Significantly on Gnome 3

So I have a laptop, a Dell E6410 specifically with intel graphics and I'm running Gnome 3 and I seem to be encountering an bug where when I change the brightness the whole computer slows down significantly. Just as a test I ran glxgears and then changed the brightness a bit and the fps would drop from like 60 down to 20 or 30 over 5 seconds. I did some googling and the error I seem to be dealing with seems very similar to this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/261450 if not the same. Can any one suggest what sort of action I should take?

Re: Laptop Brightness Changing Slows/Lags Significantly on Gnome 3

I have the same laptop with the exact same problem, have you found out any more info.  Also have you got vertical scrolling working on the touchpad yet? Arch still detects it as a ps2 device.  Ubuntu had the same problem untill kernel 2.6.39 which seems to have fixed it.
I'm still new to the Linux world so not that good with fixing these problems with some guidance :-)

Same problem here… No solution found for now…

But I've got a solution for the touchpad.
You have to install psmouse-alps  from aur : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=52538  (there is a more recent PKGBUILD in the comments of teh package).
