how to secure the boot-media ?

hello,
i try to make a good security.
- crypt harddisk
- boot from usb-key
but how to seruce the boot-media: usb-key ?
with a grub-password i think it is not better, then somebody delete the entry with the password
and boot the system.
next problem
is there a chance to have a onscreen keyboard (with changeing possitions of the keys) in the bootmenu to enter the password
so that no (hardware)-key-logger can get it ?
thanks

Re: how to secure the boot-media ?

If somebody has physical access to your computer, it really really hard to make it secure.

A password in BIOS could be effective enough to detract somebody with lesses skills, but it's not totally secure either.
